Week 1 of the Giro finished with an intriguing Time trial that went right down to the wire before the news broke later that evening that Remco was out, with our old foe Covid striking. In our fantasy Giro league its Chiggo’s Ciclista Rapido that leads the way with many of us ruing our selections either of our own making or out of our control as riders leave the race.

The rest of the battle for the Maglia Rosa is shaping up to be a cracker so what better way to spend your final Sunday of the month with some cycling (or just socialising) to celebrate the end of the first grand tour of the season. The usual format for our Giro rides will ensue, both long and short routes followed by pizza and ice creams back at the Farmers. I’ll update on the next rest day with the routes once the forecast is updated and wind directions taken into account etc. But please let us know if you are planning to ride or just come down for pizza and ice cream.
