Well...what can I say...

1 Feb 2024 by Club chairman

3 groups out for a breezy and mildly moist ride, then back to the Farmers for beer, pizza and the usual demolition of many random subjects.

Please do check out the Velodrome trip in the App on Friday 1st March and sign up asap if you are interested. The session will be coached and is suitable for beginners and velodrome veterans. If you’ve never done it before it is huge fun and a lovely taste of what it’s like to be Laura or Jason Kenny! The club is subsidising the event so the cost is a very attractive £32 including bike hire (approximately and dependant on final numbers).

…and now, a message from the club’s founder, Graeme Lewis:

If the news has not yet reached you, Eastgate Cycles shop will close its doors at the end of April. There are many reasons but all are positive and as we were at a point where we would need to sign another 5 year lease, we felt this was a great time to try something new.

To concentrate on turning over the remaining stock, the workshop has had to close as I can’t run a workshop while putting stuff online, monitoring, packing and posting which is not good if you need something fixed, but is great news if you want a bargain!!

The kettle is on for the next 3 months so please come on in!

Lance and myself are super excited about the future and it goes without saying, a big thanks to all who use and have used the shop.
Graeme.

Obviously we will all be gutted to see the shop go, but wish Graeme and Lance all the very best in their new ventures. We can also be incredibly grateful for the shop’s legacy in the form of our club and the many friendships it has spawned.

Happy riding!
