Hopefully you should have seen the event in the App for this year’s AGM and pub quiz. It’s a little later this year in the hope more people will be out riding by then and motivated to come to what is arguably one of the most fun AGMs you could possibly attend. Please do RSVP.
As usual we’ll report on the finances and highlights of the year, vote on any constitutional changes and present our awards (nominations are still open until 29th Feb
https://online1.snapsurveys.com/ECC_Nominations ).
We will also (re)elect our committee members and as some of you already know, and was hinted at least year, I am standing down from the committee at this AGM.
I’ve been in post since we first formally constituted in January 2016 and I still enjoy it hugely, but after the health scare last month I’ve got to let a few things go and I have more confidence in the rest of the Eastgate committee and the decent state the club is in (compared with some of the other organisations I’m involved in), to allow me to step away without fear of all hell braking loose, especially as I want to keep on riding and enjoying everything the club has to offer!
The club’s success is down to the volunteers on the committee who keep everything going and it’s always good to get new ideas and fresh perspectives so please do consider volunteering your time to become a committee member. Even if you don’t want to be chair, there are other roles available that may free up someone else to take on the chair role. If you have an idea for a role that doesn’t formally exist at the moment but you fancy doing, please get in touch as we have a great opportunity to develop new ideas and as the old adage goes – “One willing volunteer is worth ten pressed men”.
If you are interested in any role on the committee, please make yourself known by 12th April.
If you’re unable to attend the AGM but want to vote (on any matters that require a vote), please let Bernard know before the 12th April that you require a proxy vote.
Please don’t be shy!
